The Dream Team went into the reverse leg with a 2-1 lead and superbly drew 3-3 at Stade Alphonse Massemba-Débat, seeing them advance courtesy a 5-4 aggregate win.
Zambia will thus be making their second successive appearance at the eight-team U-23 Afcon which will be in its third edition to be stages in Egypt between November 8 and 22.
Six more slots will be determined Tuesday with the playoff games, including the return leg between Algeria and Ghana in Sétif.
Coach Ibrahim Tanko’s side were held to a 1-1 draw in the first leg at Accra Sports Stadium last Friday.
The top three teams at the Afcon tournament qualify for the men’s football tournament at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
