Abdul Manaf Umar, a key player for Nsoatreman FC, has credited the team’s MTN FA Cup victory to a strong collective effort from his teammates.
The Nsoatre-based club won the trophy with a 5-4 win in a penalty shootout against Bofoakwa Tano, following a 1-1 draw after extra time on Sunday evening.
The win marks Nsoatreman’s first-ever victory in the domestic cup competition since its establishment.
Manaf praised his teammates for their pivotal role in achieving the historic triumph, saying “We are thrilled. It was a tough match, but we fought hard, and worked together as a unit, and that’s what earned us the win.”
The victory also earns Nsoatreman FC the opportunity to represent Ghana in the upcoming CAF Confederation Cup. Looking forward, Manaf emphasized the importance of rest before preparing for the continental challenge.
“Right now, we’ll take some time to rest before we resume training and prepare for what lies ahead,” he added.
