West Ham United have long since been linked with a move for Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah and could have been offered a pathway to the capture.
The 22-year-old has reportedly rejected an offer of a new deal at the Emirates and could now be set to leave the North London club at the end of this season.

At present, Nketiah will be free to sign a pre-contract agreement with a foreign club as of January but could also wait for English interest.
The report cites a ‘lack of first-team opportunities’ under Mikel Arteta as the main driver behind the 17-cap England Under 21 star’s decision.
So far this season the London-born ace – hailed a ‘goal machine’ by Michael Owen – has scored twice in three appearances across all competitions for the Gunners.
Still holding a £10.8million market value despite a dwindling contract (Transfermarkt), Nketiah remains a highly regarded young talent despite a lack of exposure.
Having impressed whilst on loan at Leeds United and with England at all youth levels, David Moyes would be wise to seriously consider adding the ace to the ranks next summer.
In need of January reinforcements, given the likelihood of a departure as a free agent, West Ham should perhaps test the water with a bid in the coming weeks.
