Newly-signed West Ham United midfielder, Mohammed Kudus has admitted that he prefers to operate as an attacking midfielder instead of a striker.
Kudus, who is 23, is a highly versatile attacker, capable of operating in attacking midfield, out wide or up front. He has played in each of the three aforementioned roles this season, but has mostly been used as a centre-forward.
Kudus acknowledges his flexibility in various positions over the years but emphasizes that he has been most active in central areas. He further stated that he prioritize the team’s success over personal preferences and state his willingness to give his utmost effort in any position that the coach deems suitable for the team’s benefit.
The Right to Dreams Academy graduate further highlights that his best performances have typically come from attacking positions within the midfield.
“Of course, we all know my versatility for the past years, but I think the position I’ve played most spots from my actions are from the central areas, but it’s the team that’s above everyone else so the position the coach feels is best for me to help the team, of course, I will give my 100 per cent best. Everything that I’ve played in did my best is from like, an attacking position, from the midfield.”
Kudus, who will turn 23 in August, joined Ajax in July 2020 and made a total of 87 appearances for the club. He scored 27 goals and registered ten assists during that time.
