Ghana legend, Asamoah Gyan says it is quite frustrating for him and every Ghanaian player to not be able to win the AFCON trophy.
According to him, the team has in previous tournaments come very close to winning the ultimate and not being able to leaves them frustrated.
“It’s been quite frustrating, because since 2008, our worse has been the semi-final,” Gyan said after the 2021 AFCON draw in Cameroon.
“We’ve always been coming closer to the title but not getting it.
“So I think everyone back home wants the cup; it doesn’t matter about the performance, it’s about the cup and that’s what we are preparing for,” he stated.
Gyan played for Ghana in all African Cup of Nations competition since 2006 in Egypt and missed the last edition in Egypt when Ghana was eliminated by Tunisia in the round of 16 stage.
