Asante Kotoko’s assistant coach, David Ocloo, has expressed confidence in his team’s preparedness for their highly anticipated clash against Hearts of Oak in the Democracy Cup, scheduled for Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The match, which marks 30 years of democratic practice in Ghana, is set to be a thrilling encounter between the two most illustrious football clubs in the country.
Ocloo believes that Kotoko is ready to secure their third consecutive victory over Hearts of Oak, having beaten them twice during the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League season.
“We accepted to participate in the Democracy Cup because it’s a laudable initiative. We got rid of a lot of players at the end of the season but we have capable players to compete against Hearts of Oak,” Ocloo stated.
“Training was good and I think we are ready to silence Hearts of Oak. We’ve beaten them twice and we are ready to give them their third defeat against us.”
The Democracy Cup will also feature a match between parliamentarians and former Black Stars players, promising an entertaining day for football fans.
