Legendary Ghanaian football coach J E Sarpong has opened his thought about Black stars gaffer and the senior national team the Black Stars.
After a lackluster performance from the team in their second game at the FNB stadium which eventually led to a defeat, the ex Aduana Stars coach did not mince words in his assessment of the game as he also called out the coach of the side.
During a sports show discussion monitored on Asempa FM, the veteran coach was of the opinion the Black Stars are only a collection of names but not quality.
When quizzed about the team’s performance by host of the show Kwadwo Mensah Moshosho, the coach simply said “we have names but we do not have quality”.
J E Sarpong took a subtle at Coach CK Akunnor when attacked the vocal nature of the former Ghana Captain. “CK’s hands are tight he is not vocal he is an introvert anybody who can handles the black stars should be an extrovert”.
The Black Stars started their campaign to Qatar 2022 when they managed to beat the Ethiopians at the Cape Coast Stadium with an average performance and lost to Bafana Bafana three days later in South Africa with a depleted side.
Ghana will play Zimbabwe in October at home before a return fixture in Zimbabwe three days later. Black Stars are currently second in the group with 3 points after two games.
