Ghana’s national team, the Black Stars, received an enthusiastic reception in Kumasi following their 2-1 victory over Mali at the Stade du 26 Mars in Bamako on Thursday, June 6, 2024.
Coach Otto Addo and the team wasted no time, departing Mali immediately after the match and arriving in Ghana around 2:00 am on Friday, June 7, 2024.
Despite the early hour, fans eagerly greeted the players upon their return, with celebrations continuing as the team headed to their hotel in the Ashanti Region.
The Black Stars are now gearing up for their next challenge, with a recovery training session planned in Kumasi ahead of their match against the Central African Republic on Monday, June 10, 2024.
Meanwhile, the Central African Republic is expected to arrive in Ghana by Saturday for the upcoming fixture.
Jordan Ayew emerged as the hero of the match, coming off the bench to score the decisive goal after Ernest Nuamah had equalized for the Black Stars, nullifying Doumbia’s early strike for Mali.
