Asante Kotoko has announced the reconstruction of the Adako Jachie training complex into a modern facility, funded by life patron Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.
The club shared the news on X (formerly Twitter), revealing that the project will be executed in multiple phases, with Phase One commencing today.
“We are delighted to announce the commencement of the transformation of Adako Jachie into a state-of-the-art training facility. This ambitious project, fully funded by His Royal Majesty, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, will be executed in multiple phases. Today marks the beginning of Phase One.”
The first glimpse of the project reveals a stunning design that pays homage to the club’s rich history. The buildings will feature vibrant murals of legendary players, serving as a reminder of the team’s proud past and inspiring the current crop of players.
The complex will boast a state-of-the-art pitch, with both natural and artificial grass surfaces, catering to the needs of both the youth team and the first team. A five-a-side training pitch will provide additional space for players to hone their skills, while a dedicated goalkeeper’s training pitch will offer specialized practice areas.
Security will be top-notch, with a prominent security post ensuring the safety of everyone on campus. The administrative and reception block will provide a professional setting for club officials to manage daily operations.
Accommodation will be provided for both the youth and first teams, ensuring that players can focus on their training without distractions. The gymnasium and physiotherapy block will offer top-notch facilities for players to stay fit and recover from injuries. A swimming pool and multi-use gymnasium with a sauna will round out the fitness facilities.
Medical and physiotherapy services will be available at the on-site medical center, staffed by experienced professionals. Two tennis courts and a volleyball court will provide recreational facilities for players and staff, while a natural grass pitch with spectator seating will host matches and events.
The pièce de résistance is the full-size Astro pitch, capable of hosting top-level matches. This state-of-the-art facility will be a testament to Otumfuo Osei Tutu II’s commitment to Asante Kotoko’s success and his passion for developing young talent.
Phase One of the project is already underway, although the completion time frame was not provided. Rebuilding Adako Jachie has been a long-term desire for Otumfuo, who promised to give the training center a befitting facelift following a tour in 2023.
Christopher Damenya, Chairman of the National Circles Council (NCC), previously revealed the King’s plans in an interview with Akoma FM.
“We took him around and exposed our challenges to him,” Damenya said. “He (Otumfuo) promised to rebuild the AJ project and make it more befitting, so he has taken the architectural design. Very soon, we will all witness the Adako Jachie project from a different perspective.”
