Egyptian Premier League side, ENPPI, have announced the signing of Niger international forward Victorien Adebayor on loan from HB Köge.
ENPPI are having a strong transfer window so far after having already made five high-caliber signings including Omar Adly from El-Mareekh, Wadi Degla captain Hossam Arafat, Al Masry striker Ahmed Gomaa, Tala’a El-Gaish’s Mostafa Gamal and Ghana International Masahudu Alhassan.
They now added a new player to their ranks in 24-year-old NIger midfielder Victorien Adebayor.
Adebayor started his career in 2014 at 18 years of age with AS Douanes in his home country, before moving to Europe three years later to sign for France’s US Raon l’Etape.
However, the transfer didn’t work out and he subsequently returned to Niger with AS GNN two months later. Six months later he move abroad once again ,this time to Ghana where he plied his trade with Inter Allies.
25 games and 19 goals later, Adebayor became a hot property in Ghana and was linked with the likes of Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak.
However, the playmaker returned to Europe this time with Denmark’s HB Köge in October of 2020. Adebayor never made an appearance for Köge and was sent on loan back to Ghana six months later to ply his trade with Legon Cities FC.
He spent the entirety of the 2020/2021 season in Ghana and has now been sent to another loan spell with ENPPI.
The Petroleum club finished the last Egyptian Premier League season in sixth place, with 12 wins, 13 draws, and nine losses.
Adebayor is an experienced international footballer with 29 caps for Nigeria under his belt, during which he scored 12 goals and provided one assist.
