Ugandan striker Steven Mukwala is on the cusp of making a lucrative move to Tanzanian giants Simba SC after his contract with Asante Kotoko expired.
According to reports, the 24-year-old forward is in advanced talks with the Dar es Salaam-based club and is expected to sign a three-year deal worth $250,000.
Mukwala, who has established himself as a goal-scoring sensation in the Ghana Premier League, will receive a sign-on fee of $130,000 and a monthly salary of $9,000.
The former Porcupine Warrior has been a key figure for Kotoko, scoring over 25 goals in 65 league appearances.
The 24-year-old’s impressive form saw him net 14 goals in 28 Ghana Premier League games in the 2023-2024 season, helping Kotoko finish sixth in the 18-team standings.
He also starred in the Super Clash against arch-rivals Accra Hearts of Oak SC, scoring crucial goals in both legs.
In his debut season with Kotoko, Mukwala scored 11 goals and provided five assists in 31 league games, showcasing his clinical finishing ability.
