Black Meteors assistant coach Michael Osei, is excited by the historic win against Algeria, stressing they were determined for the victory in the second leg of the Under 23 AFCON final qualifier in Setif Tuesday night.
According to the former Asante Kotoko coach, though most Ghanaians wrote the team off prior to the reverse league in Algeria, they were very determined to seal qualification to the CAf U23 Cup of Nations in Egypt.
Ghana were held to a 1-1 draw by the Fennec Foxes last Friday at the Accra Sports Stadium before traveling to Algeria to seal a 1-0 win courtesy a 67th-minute strike from Yaw Yeboah.
“Most Ghanaians lost hope but as for us (Black Meteors) had hope and were determined to seal qualification.
”We were able to control the game very well, frustrated them and secured the victory. The boys did well so we thank God for this spot,” Michael Osei told Light FM in Kumasi.
