Two-times Africa Cup of Nations winner Herve Renard has included six Ghanaian footballers in his Africa Best XI.
The French gaffer chose the players as his best that he has coached in the African continent.
He was the assistant coach of Ghana’s Black Stars during the 2008 AFCON hosted in Ghana under the tutelage of head coach Claude Le Roy.
The African football expert, when ahead to win the 2012 AFCON with the Zambia national team and that of Ivory Coast in 2015 where he beat Avram Grant’s team via penalties.
Speaking in n interview with Juliet Bawuah of TV3, the Saudi Arabia national team coach named six Ghanaians in his squad with Ghana’s all-time leading top scorer Asamoah Gyan sphereheading the attack.
He chose former Black Stars, Wigan Athletic and Blackpool goalkeeper Richard Kingston in post.
In defence, he selected John Mensah and Kolo Habib Toure to pair in central defence with Medhi Banatia and Achraf Hakimi completing the left-back and right-back roles respectively.
He went in for Yaya Toure and Michael Essien pair in the holding midfield with Siaka Tiene, Sulley Muntari and Andre Ayew playing behind Asamoah Gyan.
The likes of Jordan Ayew, Gervinho and Younes Belhanda as substitutes.
