Ghana’s top talent Kudus Mohammed will lead and carry Ghana’s flag in this year’s UEFA Champions League competition along with two other players (Malik Abubakari and Edmund Addo).
The former FC Nordsjaelland man, now with Dutch Eredivisie giant, AFC Ajax Amsterdam will get the opportunity to make amends after he was destructed by injuries in his first season at the club.
Kudus got injured in his team’s first game of the 2020-21 UEFA Champions League competition in a game against England giant Liverpool FC.
Despite suffering injury early this season, the youngster is expected to be back in time to feature for the Dutch giant in this year’s competition which starts in September, 2021.
2. Edmund Addo
Young but enormously gifted box-to-box midfielder joined Moldova giant FC Sheriff Tiraspol this season from Slovakia team FC Senica.
The 21-year-old Ghanaian played in all the qualifying games for the Yellow and Blacks following his arrival at the club.
He played full throttle for his team as they draw goalless away in Croatia and sealed a group stage football for the first time in the history of the club and Moldova with a 3-0 aggregate win.
Though Addo hardly scores but he is a pivotal player for the club as he provides them with stability in midfield.
Sheriff will know their opponents on Thursday evening when the draw is conducted in Turkey and are in Pot 4 ahead of the draw.
3. Malik Abubakari
Malik Abubakari is a budding striker making his way to the top of European club football with some incredible displays in Portugal Secunda Liga last season.
After his impressive showings in the Secunda Liga with Casa Pia, he moved to Sweden this summer to join giant Club in the country, Malmö FF.
The 21-year-old Ghanaian attacker has scored two goals so far for the Sky Blue and Whites outfit in the Swedes Allsvenskan.
Last week, the young man was on target for his team as he made it two goals in his last three games in the league for the former Zlatan Ibrahimovic team.
This is the first time Abubakari will be representing a club in the covetous and elite club competition in Europe, the UEFA Champions League.
Abubakari is the only Ghanaian striker and the third player from the four-time AFCON champions country to play in the competition this season.
The draw will be held today at 4pm Ghana time in Istanbul, Turkey.
