Hearts of Oak coach, Aboubakar Ouattara, asserts his authority over player recruitment at the club despite inheriting the team midway through the campaign.
Arriving during the season, Ouattara had to make do with the players left by the previous technical team. After the team’s loss to Legon Cities, he acknowledged the challenge of maximizing the current squad’s potential.
However, as they prepare to face Accra Lions in the Premier League clash, Ouattara revealed he now has the mandate to bring in new players, though he can only do so at the end of the season due to the transfer window closure.
Quoted by Ghana Sports News, Ouattara stated, “I am now in charge of Hearts of Oak recruitment, Togbe Afede has given me the power for that. I will not accept a situation where a management member brings a player to me and then blames me later for a bad work.”
Hearts of Oak aim to rebound from their recent defeat as they host Accra Lions later today.
