The former Medeama SC head coach began his time as Hearts of Oak technical boss with an emphatic 4-0 win over West Africa Football Academy (WAFA) on Sunday.
When WAFA lose on the road is it normally not surprising looking at how bad they have been in games outside the Sogakope synthetic pitch but humiliate the Academy Boys by a score-line of 4-0 is worthy of recognition.
The goals rained on Samuel Boadu’s debut. Patrick Razak – who has not scored this season waited to do that in the first match of the new coach so was the case of the Congolese hard defender Rady Ovouka. Maybe it was a matter of coincidence or those players determined to do something they have never done before this season.
They were goals from striker Isaac Mensah and winger Michelle Sarpong as WAFA were slaughtered in Accra by the Phobians who have used four different coaches this season.
The beginning has been easy but it is the subsequent games that will represent a real test for the 35-year old but for now that was a big start.
