Roméo Lavia, a young and talented Belgian midfielder, was born on January 6th, 2004. He is currently playing as a defensive midfielder for Chelsea Football Club and is also part of the Belgium national team.

Lavia started his football journey at the age of eight when he joined Anderlecht’s training center in Neerpede near Brussels. At just 15 years old, he caught the attention of Pep Guardiola during a local international youth tournament for players under the age of 15.

Pep Guardiola was there because of his player Kevin De Bruyne who was co-organizing the KDB Cup tournament. After showing promising skills and talent, Roméo signed his first professional contract with Manchester City at sixteen years old and joined their U18 squad.

In November 2020, after only eleven appearances with Manchester City, Roméo got promoted to the U23 squad. With the EDS team, he won the Premier League 2 championship in April 2021 and was named the player of the season.

Roméo Lavia is of Ghanaian descent but was born in Belgium. He played one official game for the Belgian U15 youth team in 2019 and scored once in a Belgium U16 match. Since then, he has played several friendlies, and he was often the team captain.
