Accra Hearts of Oak SC goalkeeper, Richard Attah on Sunday February 20 proved beyond all reasonable doubts that he deserves to be the new Ghana number one goalie.
The former Elmina Sharks FC goalie showed class in the game against rivals Kumasi Asante Kotoko SC in the Ghana Premier League Super Clash.

Attah produced a point blank saves in the match to help keep his team in the game when they came under immense pressure from the Porcupine Warriors.
Attah in the first half of the highly competitive game produced a masterclass save to deny Franck Thierry Mbella Etouga from opening the scoring for the away team.
He also stopped Georges Rodríguez Mfegue from beating him at the near post with a fine stop the Cameroonian with a great save.
In the second half of the match, Attah came under intense pressure when the Porcupine Warriors pressed the Phobians high up on the field but responded well on all occasions when he was called into action.
The Black Stars fourth choice goalie saved his team from falling behind as he produced two great saves to deny midfielder Richmond Lamptey from getting the opener.
He also saved a close range header from Mbella Etouga to keep a clean sheet in the game as it ended 0 – 0.
Attah was used at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Cameroon but has proven to be a competent goalkeeper who must be given the chance to play in goal for Ghana.

The next month Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers playoffs against the Super Eagles of Nigeria could serve as a perfect opportunity to instill the Hearts of Oak SC goalkeeper into the Ghana team.
With his performance against Kotoko and consistency in the Ghana Premier League, it would be only right to make Attah the new Black Stars number One goalkeeper in matches to come.
