A supporter of Polish side Wisla Krakow paid for the transfer deal for Ghana U20 ace Emmanuel Kumah to join the top-flight club, Ghanasoccernet.com reports.
Kumah secured a big career breakthrough in Europe on Friday after sealing a loan deal to join Polish top-flight side Wisla Krakow but the club struggled before signing him because of financial problems of the club.
The 19-year-old sealed the deal after impressing the side while on trial in October before he travelled to play for Ghana at the U20 Africa Cup of Nations in Niger this month.
Wisla wanted to sign the Ghanaian players ater he impressed for the January transfer window but could not complete becasue of their financial problems.
Now a supporter of the club who wants to remain anonymous brought the money for the loan deal with the top-flight club before Kumah was given the contract.
“The loan of Emmanuel Kumah was made possible thanks to funds from Socio Wisła,” a statement from Wisla Krakow revealed when releasing the details of the transfer.
“The association then donated to the club a donation received from the White Star supporter, who wished to remain anonymous.”
Kumah, who moves from Ghanaian second tier side Tudu Mighty Jets, will stay with the Krakow-based club on loan until the end of the year.
Wisla Krakow have the option to give the midfielder a permanent deal when his loan contract expires in December this year.
The deal is a major career advancement for Kumah who has played for the club known for nurturing top young players in Ghana.
He played for the Ghana national team in the U20 Africa Cup of Nations where the Black Satellites failed to advance beyond the group phase of the tournament.
Kumah played in three matches and was on the pitch for a total of 203 minutes.
He was born on February 9, 2000 in the city of Seikwa in the Brong Ahafo region of Ghana.
The left-wing attacking midfielder can also play on the wing.
