Scottish giants Rangers FC are emerging as strong favourites to land highly-rated Ghanaian winger Kwame Poku Adubofour from Peterborough United this summer.
The 23-year-old forward, who has been one of the standout performers in League One, is out of contract at the end of June, making him an attractive option for several clubs eyeing low-cost reinforcements. Rangers, however, are currently leading the chase as they prepare for a crucial summer rebuild under manager Russell Martin.
Poku, known for his explosive pace, sharp footwork, and eye for goal, has been instrumental for Peterborough since joining the club. Over his spell with “The Posh,” he has racked up 120 appearances, netting 30 goals and providing 30 assists—a remarkable return for a player still developing his game.
Sources close to the deal suggest that Rangers see Poku not only as a valuable addition for the upcoming Scottish Premiership campaign but also as a long-term asset who can grow in value. His ability to operate across all attacking positions makes him a versatile option for Martin’s evolving system.
The Glasgow side are also keen on Swansea City defender Harry Darling, but interest from English Championship sides has intensified the competition. Meanwhile, Poku’s situation presents a more favorable opportunity, especially as the player is believed to be open to a move to Ibrox.
Several Championship clubs and a handful of European teams have reportedly shown interest in the Ghanaian international, but Rangers’ early approach and the lure of European football could give them the edge.
Should the transfer go through, it would represent a significant coup for Rangers as they aim to bolster their squad ahead of next season’s domestic and continental challenges.
With the window approaching, the race is on—and Rangers are firmly in the driving seat for Kwame Poku Adubofour.
