Ghanaian champions Police Ladies have secured a spot in the semifinals of the 2025 WAFU B Women’s Champions League Qualifiers after a convincing 3-1 win over Togo’s ASKO in their final Group B fixture on Saturday.
The victory confirmed Yusif Basigi’s side as group runners-up, ensuring progression to the knockout stage of the competition.
Forward Deborah Afriyie was the star of the night, netting twice in sensational fashion. She opened the scoring in the 8th minute after latching onto a defensive error, before Sophia Agyakwaa doubled the lead just five minutes later with a stunning long-range strike.
Although ASKO reduced the deficit from the penalty spot, the Ghanaian champions maintained control. Afriyie sealed the result with an acrobatic overhead kick to complete her brace and round off an impressive performance.
The outcome, coupled with Bayelsa Queens’ win over Sam Nelly, ensured Police Ladies’ passage into the last four.
They will now meet host club ASEC Mimosas in a crucial semifinal clash on Tuesday, September 2, in Abidjan.
