Togbe Afede XIV, the Majority Shareholder and Board Chairman of Hearts of Oak, has announced the club’s ambitious plans to construct a 25,000-seater stadium following the completion of the Pobiman project.
Togbe Afede made this revelation during a stakeholders meeting held in Accra last week. He emphasized that the club is actively working towards establishing its own match venue to address the infrastructure needs.
“What the club lacked was infrastructure and we are on track towards fulfilling that. After the Pobiman is done, the only thing we will not have is a big stadium. CAF requires minimum 25,000 seater capacity stadium so after all this (Pobiman project), that’s the next thing to do.”
“The board as visionary and future oriented as it is have already looking for a land for that stadium”
Hearts of Oak have already transitioned to their modern training facility located in Pobiman, which boasts an array of impressive amenities.
The facility features a standard-size artificial pitch, four natural grass pitches, a spacious swimming pool, and other sporting amenities such as a tennis court. Additionally, the complex includes a sizeable golf course, a serene fountain, and hostel facilities.
