Black Stars coach, Kwasi Appiah, on Tuesday, 28th May, 2019, met his General Captain Asamoah Gyan in Accra to discuss some few matters ahead of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations finals.
It’s the first time the two were meeting since the decision to hand the striker the new role in the senior national team.
Gyan had responded to the move with a retirement from international duty but rescinded his decision and made himself available for selection once more.
The Ghana record scorer, upon arrival in the country, after completing his season with Turkish club Kayserispor, called on coach Appiah to patch up and demonstrate his total commitment to the ultimate cause of winning the Nations Cup title for the first time in 37 years.
Gyan was in the company of his management team at the brief meeting.
Coach Kwasi Appiah included Gyan in his 29-man provisional squad set to leave Ghana a training camp in the United Arab Emirates on Saturday, 1st June 2019.
Asamoah Gyan will be making his seventh Africa Cup of Nations bow in Egypt if he gets named in the final 23 for the tournament.
