Performance of Ghanaian players Abroad: Asamoah Gyan, Benjamin Tetteh, Boakye all on target as Justin Shaibu Hits Hat-Trick In England

Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan got his first league goal of the season in Turkey while Benjamin Tetteh and Richmond Boakye-Yiadom also scored.

There were goals for Ernest Asante, Emmanuel Gyasi, Nii Nortey Ashong and youngster Justin Kwabena Yakubu hit a hat-trick while Abdul-Aziz Yakubu also netted a brace in Portugal.

Jermaine Osei, Immanuelson Duku, Daniel Nti and Latif Amadu all scored for their clubs.

ENGLAND

Crystal Palace climbed further away from the relegation zone after beating Leicester City 1-0. Ghana forward Jordan Ayew played 78 minutes for Palace while Jeffrey Schlupp was introduced in the 65th minute by the winners.

English-born Edward Nketiah warmed the bench for Arsenal in their 3-2 loss at Southampton in the Premier League on Sunday.

Newcastle United posted a 1-0 win Huddersfield Town. German-born Ghanaian Collin Quarner was left on the Huddersfield bench for the game but Ghana winger Christian Atsu played 90 minutes for the winners.

West Ham United compounded the misery of Fulham by beating them 2-0 at the Craven Cottage. Belgian-born Ghanaian Denis Odoi played as left-back for the losers but Dutch international of Ghanaian descent Timothy Fosu-Mensah was left of the Fulham squad for the game.

In the Championship, Stoke City held Aston Villa to a 2-2 draw on Saturday at the Villa Park. Winger Albert Adomah missed the game with an ankle problem.

Norway international of Ghanaian descent Alexander Tettey played 77 minutes for Norwich City in their 2-2 draw at Bristol City.

There was game for defender Andy Kyere Yiadom as he played 90 minutes for Reading in their 1-1 draw with Rotherdam at the Aesseal New York Stadium.

Elsewhere in the League One, Charlton posted a 2-0 win over AFC Wimbledon on Saturday. There was noKwesi Appiah in the AFC Wimbledon squad but Tariq Fosu played 90 minutes for the winners while Brendan Wiredu was unused by the host.

Former Arsenal youth team goalkeeper Corey Addai and Abumere Ogogo warmed the Coventry City bench in their 2-1 home defeat against Luton.

Former Leicester and Rangers striker Joe Dodoo lasted 60 minutes Blackpool in their 2-0 away loss to Oxford Utd on Saturday.

In the League Two, former Crystal Palace midfielder Hiram Boateng was not part of the Exeter City squad for their 1-0 home win over Crewe Alexandria.

Former Watford youngster Bernard Mensah warmed the Lincoln City bench for their 3-1 win over Morecambe.

Ghanaian midfielder Koby Arthur was unused by Macclesfield in their 2-0 win over Crawley.

Alex Addai was introduced in the 68th minute Cheltenham Town in their 2-2 draw with Port Vale.

English-born Ghanaian forward Kwame Thomas played 90 minutes for Solihull Moors when they won 1-0 against Southport.

Biggleswade Town posted a 2-1 win over Wealdstone. Ghanaian midfielder Simon Mensah scored an own-goal while Bradley Hudson-odoi played 67 minutes for the losers. Godfrey Poku also played for the losers.

Barnet claimed a 3-2 win over Bath City on Saturday. Dutch-born Ghanaian Immanuelson Duku played scored in the 10th minute but 36-year-old defender Kevin Amankwaah was unused by the losers.

Former AC Milan loanee Edmund Etse Hottor was part of the Banbury side that suffered a 4-1 loss at Kettering Town.

In other games Ghanaian Jermaine Osei scored for Bedford in their 3-3 draw with Aldershot on Saturday.

There was a hat-trick for Danish-born Ghanaian Justin Kwabena Shaibu as he scored all 3 goals for Boreham Wood in their 3-1 win over Torquay.

Still in the FA Trophy Daniel Nti got off the mark for Brackley for their 4-3 win over Hayes & Yeading.

In the Professional Development League, English-born Ghanaian David Bremang scored from the spot for Coventry City U23 in their 6-3 win over Crystal Palace U23. Ghanaian starlet David Boateng also played for Palace.

In the Premier League 2, West Ham United U23 slipped to a 4-2 loss against Brighton U23. Sean Adarkwacame off the bench to play for young Hammers but goalkeeper Joseph Tetteh-Anang was not in the West Ham squad for the game.

Dutch-born Ghanaian Jeremie Frimpong climbed off the bench in the 80th minute to play for Manchester City U23 in their slender 2-1 loss to Tottenham U23.

GERMANY

Austrian international of Ghanaian descent Kevin Danso warmed the Augsburg bench in their 1-1 draw with Schalke 04. Ghanaian defender Baba Rahman was not part of the Schalke squad for the game.

Stuttgart helped themselves to a 2-1 win over Hertha Berlin. Ghanaian youth defender Hans Sarpei Nunoowarmed the bench for the winners while Dutch-born Ghana-pursuit Derrick Luckassen missed the game with an ankle problem.

Swedish international of Ghanaian descent Robin Quaison played for Mainz 05 in their 4-1 away loss over RB Leipzig.

Meanwhile TSG Hoffenheim and Borussia Monchengladbach shared the spoil in a 0-0 contest at the Rein-Necker Arena on Saturday afternoon. Ghana international defender Kasim Nuhu lasted the entire period of the game for the Hoffs.

German-born Ghanaian youngster John Yeboah Zamora was left out of the Wolfsburg squad for their 2-0 away win over Nurnberg on Friday.

In the Bundesliga II, Holstien Kiel succumbed to a 2-1 loss against visiting Arminia Bielefeld. German-born Ghanaian Kingsley Schindler was in action for 90 minutes for Kiel. Prince-Osei Owusu was axed from the winners’ squad for the game.

Elsewhere promotion-chasing Hamburg SV won 2-1 against Duisburg. American-born Ghanaian and grandson of former Ghana international Nana Agyeman Gyau, Joseph Claud-Gyau came off the bench to play for the losers. Neither Kwarteng Moritz nor Aaron Opoku was in the Hamburg squad for the game.

Ghanaian defender Jans Gyamerah was in action for Bochum in their 2-0 away loss to Union Berlin.

Christopher Avevor was at the heart of defence for St Pauli in their 2-0 home win over Greuther Furth. Ghanaian midfielder David Atanga played 90 minutes for Furth.

Paderborn cruised to a 3-0 win over Dynamo Dresden on Saturday. Ghanaian pair of Chris Antwi-Adjei and Bernard Tekpetey played 90 minutes for the winners.

In the Liga 3, Fortuna Koln managed to squeeze a point from Grossaspach after holding them to a 1-1 draw. Ghanaian defender Bernard Kyere played 90 minutes for Koln while German-born Mike Owusu came off the bench to play for Grossaspach.

Energie Cottbus suffered a 1-0 home loss against Eintracht Braunschweig. Ghanaian defender Kevin Weidlich played 90 minutes for the hosts while Steffan Nkansah also lasted the entire period of the winners.

Ghanaian Braydon Manu was in action for 81 minutes for Hallescher in their 3-0 home loss to visiting Karlsruher SC.

In the Regionalliga former Manchester City U23 midfielder Denzeil Boadu could not make the Dortmund II squad for their 1-1 draw at Rot-Weiß Oberhausen.

FRANCE

Attacker Ebenezer Assifuah was unused by Le Havre in their 1-1 draw with GFC Ajaccio in the Ligue 2 on Friday.

Sochaux slipped to a heavy 3-0 defeat against Red Star. Ghanaian goalkeeper Lawrence Ati-Zigi warmed the bench for the losers while Olympique Lyon loanee Elisah Owusu was booked in the 29th minute and played 57 minutes for the losers.

French-born Ghanaian forward Grejohn Kyei came off the bench in the 88th minute to play for Lens in their 0-0 draw with Clermont Foot.

NETHERLANDS

Defender Robin Polley warmed the bench for ADO Den Haag who rubbished Willem II 3-0 at their own backyard.

In other Eredivisie games, AZ Alkmaar won 2-1 against Excelsior Rotterdam. Ghanaian youngster Myron Boadu missed the game with an ankle problem.

Ajax Amsterdam mercilessly dismantled Graafschap 8-0 and Ghanaian defender Leeroy Owusu played 90 minutes in defence for the losers against his former club.

Dutch-born Ghanaian youngster Cody Gakpo warmed the bench for PSV Eindhoven in their 4-0 away win over Heracles Almelo.

Another Dutch-born Ghanaian Johnathan Opoku Agyemang played full throttle for VVV Venlo in their 2-1 away loss to Vitesse Arnhem.

In the second-tier league, Ghanaian attacker Kevin Luckassen played the last 5 minutes of normal time for Almere City in their 3-2 loss against Jong Ajax.

18-year-old forward Dereck Dankwa warmed the bench for Jong Utrecht in their 4-1 win over Dordrecht on Friday.

Kumasi-born Portugal youth international Asumah Ankra climbed off the bench to play for Maastricht in their 1-0 away win over NEC Nijmegen.

Volendam introduced Ghanaian Rodney Antwi in the 9th minute in their 2-1 loss at Roda JC on Friday.

In the third-tier league, Ghanaian defender Carlos Opoku was in action for Rijnsburgse Boys when they lost 4-1 at IJsselmeervogels.

Ghanaian pair of Samuel Brobbey and Alfred Mensah were both in action for Jong Almere City in their 2-1 win over Kozakken Boys.

In the Youth League, Ghanaian 27-year-old Kenneth Danso scored the lone goal for Ajax Amsterdam Amateur side in their 1-0 win over Jong Groningen.

CAF CHAMPIONS LEAGUE

Ghanaian quintet of Patrick Razak, Godfred Asante, Brefo Mensah, Mandela Ocansey and Sebe Baffourwere all in the Horoya AC squad for their 3-0 defeat to Libyan side Al Nasr de Benghazi.

ALBANIA

Ghanaian midfielder Emmanuel Mensah played 90 minutes for Partizani Tirana in their 0-0 draw with Kukesi on Friday.

Gent slipped to a 2-0 defeat at Sporting Charleroi in the Jupiler League on Friday. Ghanaian defender Nana Kwasi Asare was not part of the matchday squad for the losers.

Both Joseph Aidoo and Joseph Paintsil were in action for Genk in their 2-0 home win over visiting KV Oostende on Sunday.

Francis Amuzu and Dauda Mohammed played for Anderlecht in their 2-1 defeat at Cercle Brugge KSV. French-born Dennis Appiah did not make the squad for the game.

Kortrijk split points with Club Brugge. Ghanaian midfielder Bennard Yao Kumordzi was not in the Kortrijk squad for the game.

Ghanaian midfielder Eric Ocansey came off the bench in the 54th minute to play for KAS Eupen in their 1-0 win over Mouscron. Young goalkeeper Abdulmanaf Nurudeen was with the Ghana U20 squad and missed the game.

St Truiden suffered a 2-0 away loss at Lokeren on Saturday. Ghanaian midfielder Samuel Asamoah played 90 minutes in midfield for Truiden while Dutch-born Ghanaian attacker Elton Acolatse was introduced in the 85th minute by the losers.

Ghanaian midfielder Michael Tawiah was omitted from the Vereya squad for their heavy 4-0 hammering at Slavia Sofia.

Winger Edwin Gyasi was unused CSKA Sofia in their 2-1 home win over Botev Plovdiv in the top-flight on Sunday.

Ishmael Baidu played full throttle for Septemvri Sofia when they lost 2-0 at Etar.

Ghanaian midfielder Derrick Mensah warmed the bench for Dunav Ruse in their 2-0 home loss to Ludogorets.

CROATIA

In the 1. HNL Accra Lions FC left-back Nasiru Moro came off the bench in the 72nd minute to play for Gorica when they drew 2-2 at Lokomotiv Zagreb on Friday. His Ghanaian compatriot Ahmed Ramzy Yussifwas unused as he warmed the bench.

Dinamo Zagreb won 1-0 against Hajduk Split on Sunday. There was not Said Ahmed Said in the losers squad for the game.

Obeng Regan was introduced in the 76th minutes by Istra 1961 when they won 1-0 against Rudes.

PORTUGAL

Ghanaian defender Emmanuel Hackmann was unused by Portimonense as they brushed Setubal 3-1 in the Portuguese top-flight on Friday. Hackmann is a former Liberty boy.

Aves and Guimaraes shared the spoils in a 1-1 drawn game at the Estádio do CD das Aves. Midfielder Alhassan Wakaso played the entire period of the game for Guimaraes but youngster Henry Mendariousmissed out due to injury.

Ghanaian defender Lumor Agbenyenu did not make the Sporting matchday squad for their 5-2 home win over Nacional.

Arouca held Sporting Covilhã to a 2-2 drawn game on Sunday. Ghanaian midfielder Yaw Moses did not make the Arouca squad for the game.

Abdul-Aziz Yakubu scored both goals for Guimaraes II when they dismissed Academico Viseu 2-0 on Sunday. Ghanaian forward Kwame Nsor came off the bench but could not rescue the game for the losers.

Paul Ayongo was introduced on the 79th minute mark by Paços de Ferreira in their 1-0 home loss to Porto B. His Ghanaian compatriot Osei Barnes was not in their squad for the game.

Midfielder Lawrence Ofori was booked in the 72nd minute and played 90 minutes for Leixões in their 1-0 away defeat to Mafra.

Former Dreams FC attacker Lawson Bekui was unused by Poli Iasi in their 6-3 away win over Concordia.

Dinamo Bucuresti won 3-0 against U Craiova 1948 CS. Ghanaian defender Isaac Donkor played 90 minutes in central defence for the losers.

Former Dwarfs forward Richard Gadze played 62 minutes for Voluntari in their 1-1 draw with 10-man Astra.

Livingston posted a 5-0 win over 10-man Heart of Midlothian. Danish-born Ghanaian attacker Danny Amankwaa did not make the Jambos squad for the game.

Hibernian claimed a 2-0 win over Celtic in the Premiership. Ghanaian winger Thomas Agyepong was not in the winners’ squad for the game.

German-born Ghanaian defender Lenny Adjetey Sowah was in action for Hamilton in their slim 1-0 loss at Rangers.

Ghanaian midfielder Christian Prince Buaben Abankwah was booked in 92nd minute while in action for Falkirk in their 0-0 draw with Morton.

SOUTH AFRICA

Forward Anas Mohammed played 90 minutes for Polokwane United in their 2-2 draw at Chippa United.

Midfielder Samuel Darpoh was yellow carded and played the entire 90 minutes for Amazulu in their 3-1 loss against Black Leopards.

Ghana goalkeeper Richard Ofori manned the post for Maritzburg United in their 1-0 loss to Supersport United.

TURKEY

Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan scored the lone strike Kayesirspor as they won 1-0 over Akhisarspor. Elvis Manu came off the bench to play for the losers while Bernard Mensah was booked in the 87th minute.

Yeni Malatyaspor managed a 2-0 win over Antalyaspor. Sulley Muniru was in the winners’ squad for the game.

Besiktas and Trabzonspor drew 2-2 on Sunday. Ghanaian Caleb Ekuban came off the bench to play for Trabzonspor.

Midfielder Isaac Sackey missed Alanspor’s 1-1 draw at Rizespor with suspension.

Defender Joseph Attamah warmed the bench for Basaksehir in their 1-1 draw with Galatasaray.

Ghana defender Jerry Akaminko was not part of the Istanbulspor squad for their 2-2 draw with Umraniyespor on Friday.

Attacker Mahatma Otoo gave an assist to Balikesirspor to help them to a 2-1 win over Adana Demirspor on Saturday.

UAE

Ghanaian winger Ernest Asante came off the bench to score for Al Jazira in their 3-1 home win over Al Nasr.

SWITZERLAND

Majeed Ashimeru played in midfield for St Gallen in their 2-1 away loss to Luzern on Sunday.

Gregory Kwesi Wuthrich warmed the bench for Young Boys Bern in their 4-1 away win over Xamax as they open a 19-point lead.

Young Boys loanee Kwadwo Duah warmed the bench for FC Servette in their 4-1 home win over visiting Rapperswil.

ITALY

Inter Milan restored their winning run in the Serie A after pipping Udinese 1-0. Ghanaian wing-half Kwadwo Asamoah was booked in the first-half and played 90 minutes for the Nerazzurris. Defender Nicholas Opoku was unused by the Little Zebras but midfielder Emmanuel Agyeman Badu missed the game with injury.

Fiorentina thrashed Empoli. Ghanaian midfielder Afriyie Acquah was unused by the losers in the game.

Sassuolo moved just 2 points within the top four after beating Frosinone 2-0 in an away fixture. Midfielder Alfred Duncan played 90 minutes for the winners but both Kevin-Prince Boateng and Claud Adjapongmissed the game with various degree of injuries.

In the Serie B, Ascoli shared the spoils with Cittadella in a 1-1 draw. Bright Addae was used in a defensive midfield and lasted 64 minutes for the home side.

Former Torino forward Emmanuel Gyasi scored the leveller for Spezia with a 68th minute finish when they drew 1-1 with Perugia.

Ghanaian defender Bright Gyamfi warmed the bench for Benevento in their -0 draw at Cosenza.

Moses Odjer was axed from the Salernitana squad for their 3-2 away loss at Carpi on Sunday.

In the Serie C, Novara posted a 4-0 win over Olbia on Sunday. Emmanuel Agyemang and 18-year-old Nigel Kyeremateng did not play for the winners. Joseph Tetteh was in the winners squad for the game.

Former Fiorentina midfielder Daniel Kofi Agyei was in action for Carrarese in their 2-1 home loss to Robur Siena.

Midfielder Davis Mensah lasted 82 minutes for Triestina in their 2-0 home win over FeralpiSalò on Sunday.

Neither Abdallah Basit nor Amidu Salifu played for Arrezzo in their 2-2 home draw with Virtus Entella.

33-year-old defender Marcus N’Ze Kouassi was at the heart of defence for Virtus Verona in their 1-0 win over Fano. Midfielder Ransford Selasi also played for the visitors.

Midfielder Shaka Mawuli was introduced in the 62nd minute to play for Catanzaro in their 1-0 away win over Virtus Francavilla.

There was a place on the Viterbese Castrense bench for Ghanaian Bismarck Ngissah in their 1-0 win over Potenza Calcio.

Ex-Inter Milan Primavera midfielder Stephen Danso was introduced to play the last 7 minutes of normal time for Rimini in their 1-0 away loss to Sambenedettese.

SPAIN

Atletico Madrid managed a 3-2 win over Real Valladolid on Saturday. Ghana midfielder Thomas Parteycame off the bench in the 60th minute to play for the winners while Kumasi-born Mohammed Salisuwatched the game from the stands due to injury.

Barcelona made rubbish of Levante by beating them 5-0 on Sunday. Emmanuel Boateng played 64 minutes for the losers. Raphael Dwamena did not merit a place in the Levante squad for the game.

In the Segunda Division, Ghanaian Yaw Yeboah played 61 minutes for Numencia in their 2-1 home defeat to Albacete.

Midfielder Isaac Cofie was not in the Sporting Gijon team when they beat Real Mallorca 1-0. Ghanaian defender Iddrisu Baba warmed the bench for Mallorca.

Richard Boateng was unused by Real Oviedo in their 1-0 loss at Granada.

AUSTRIA

In the Bundesliga, attacker Samuel Tetteh was left out of the LASK Linz squad for their 2-1 win over Mattersburg on Saturday.

Midfielder Seth Paintsil returned from injury to warm the bench for Admira in their 3-0 away loss to Sturm Graz.

AZERBAIJAN

Striker Kwame Karikari was left out of the Neftchi Baku squad for their 2-0 home loss to Sumqayit on Saturday.

CYPRUS

Doxa succumbed to a 4-3 defeat against AEL Limassol on Saturday in the First Division. Former Atletico Madrid B midfielder Benjamin Akoto Asamoah played 49 minutes for Doxa.

CZECH REPUBLIC

Pribam and Sparta Prague shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw on Saturday afternoon. Ghanaian wing-half Emmanuel Antwi played the entire game for the host while Benjamin Tetteh scored the opener for Prague. Tetteh was replaced in the 62nd minute.

HUNGARY

German-born Ghanaian midfielder Reagy Ofosu came off the bench in the 69th minute to play for relegation-bound Haladas in their 2-0 home loss against Debrecen.

Ghanaian defender Abraham Akwasi Frimpong was not in the Ferencvaros squad for their 2-1 away loss to Videoton MOL.

MALTA

Pieta Hotspurs were roundly beaten 3-0 by visiting Sliema Wanderers. Ghanaian forward Gabriel Mensahplayed for the losers but former Fiorentina Primavera player Nii Nortey Ashong got on the score-sheet for the winners in the Premier League.

SERBIA

Former Techiman City striker Francis Kyeremeh was in action for Radnik when they won 3-2 against Backa on Saturday in the Super Liga.

Sparta Subotica won 3-2 against FK Vozdovac. Ghanaian striker Samuel Afum was not part of the Subotica squad for the game.

Richmond Boakye-Yiadom scored the match-winner for Red Star Belgrade in their 2-1 win over Cukaricki. Ghanaian forward Samuel Owusu was in action for 90 minutes for the losers. Defender Rashid Sumaila did not travel with the Red Star squad for the game.

DENMARK

Emmanuel Oti was introduced to play the last 12 minutes of normal time Esbjerg in their 3-0 home win over Nordsjaelland. Ghanaian pair of Godsway Donyoh and Sadiq Ibrahim were in the squad for Nordsjaelland but Mohammed Kudus, Clinton Antwi  and Abdul Mumin were not in the losers squad for the game.

GREECE

Olympiakos Piraeus dismissed Lamia 3-0 in the Super League on Sunday. Ghanaian midfielder Mark Asigbawarmed the bench for the losers but Abdul Osman was out of the squad for the game.
