Moldovan top-flight league side CF Spartanii Sportul has announced the signing of former Asante Kotoko winger Isaac Oppong on a free transfer.
The 21-year-old attacker was released by Asante Kotoko after a disappointing season, but he has quickly found a new home in Moldova.
The club, based in Chișinău, is managed by former Asante Kotoko CEO Nana Yaw Amponsah, who facilitated the signing of the young talent. Oppong made 15 league appearances for the Porcupine Warriors, contributing two goals and two assists last season.
Oppong was a key member of the squad that won the Ghana Premier League title with Asante Kotoko in the 2021-22 season. Despite his release from the club, Oppong’s pace, skill, and goal-scoring ability have attracted attention from clubs abroad, and he is now set to make his mark in the Moldovan Superliga.
The signing of Oppong is seen as a coup for CF Spartanii Sportul, who will be looking to the young winger to provide attacking flair and help drive the team forward.
