Stade Rennais FC is nearing its objective of securing the services of Ghanaian defender Mohammed Salisu after agreeing a 12 million Euro transfer fee with Ronaldo Luis Nazario de Lima the president of Real Valladolid but Rennais is yet to agree terms with the 21-year old.
RMC journalist Mohamed Bouhafsi announced Rennes has reached an agreement with Real Valladolid for the transfer of Salisu who the French club have monitored for the past one season.
Rennes – who have lost defender Jeremy Morel on free transfer – will pay 12 million Euros (bonus included) to the Spanish team for the African defender as Morel’s replacement.
The former team of Asamoah Gyan is in pole position to recruit the Ghanaian as the Britons finished 3rd in the 2019.2020 Ligue 1 season after PSG and Marseille and will play in the Champions League next season – a prestigious competition that can lure Salisu to leave Spain for France.
