Had Dreams beaten Zamalek on Sunday, Ghana would have jumped from the current 14th place to 12th in the rankings of countries by CAF per performance in African club football.
Ghana was ranked 27th in 2023 but is now ranked 14th having won 20 points helping them to leapfrog Mali (15 points). Nigeria ranks 12th (25 points) currently and was 12th in 2023.
Egypt is the leader of the list having amassed 127 points in the last 5 years.
Morocco is second with 148 points. Algeria (119), South Africa (106) and Tunisia (96) complete the top five.
Tanzania, DR Congo, Angola, Sudan, Libya, Ivory Coast and Nigeria are the top 12 ranked countries due to having two teams each in the CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup.
