Former Kumsai Asante Kotoko head coach, Johnson Smith has revealed Nana Yaw Amponsah has refused to answer his calls after his arrival at the club’s secretariat.
However, Smith says he has been stranded in the environment since his arriving there and the club Chief Executive Officer has refused to pick his calls as he tries to speak to him.
The former gaffer is at the club to mutually terminate his contract with the club after being relieved off his duties following the appointment of Prosper Narteh Ogum at the club.
“I am stranded in Kumasi now,” Smith told Kumasi FM.
“I came to terminate my contract with Kotoko. I went to the secretariat but nobody was there to received me.
“I met only the accountant and he can’t terminate my contract and the chief executive officer is not picking my calls.
“I have even called some board members including Ahaji Lamin and he said I should wait till to tomorrow,” he added.
Smith had been an integral part of the Kotoko technical bench in the last few years having worked under both Maxwell Konadu and Mariano Barreto.
The former Karela United boss has reportedly been linked with the assistant coach job at Premier League newcomers Bibiani Gold Stars, where Michael Osei has been put in charge as the head coach.
