New Asante Kotoko signing Morifing Donzo says he’s determined to make his mark at the club and is ready to give everything to succeed in Kumasi.
The Guinean forward officially joined the Porcupine Warriors on Monday, August 4, on a three-year deal, becoming one of the club’s latest key additions ahead of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season.
In his first interview with the club’s media team, Donzo expressed excitement about the move and shared that it had been long in the making.
“I was eager to make this move last season, but sometimes football doesn’t go the way you plan. Better late than never,” Donzo said.
“I’ve spoken with Amos Frimpong, who always encouraged me to come. I also talked with Mo Camara and Joe Ablorh — they had only good things to say about the club. I’m here now, ready to give everything and make a name for myself in front of these fans.”
Kotoko confirmed the striker’s signing in a statement, noting that the contract is subject to a work permit approval.
“Asante Kotoko is delighted to announce the signing of Guinean forward Morifing Donzo on a three-year deal, following the successful completion of his medical. The deal is subject to the approval of his work permit,” the club announced.
Donzo is expected to boost Kotoko’s attack as the club aims for a strong run in both domestic and continental competitions this season.
