Mohammed Polo, a revered figure at Hearts of Oak, expressed frustration over the club’s choice to terminate Dutch coach Martin Koopman’s contract.
Koopman was dismissed after ten games into his three-year contract, marked by a series of drawn matches.
The Phobians, currently facing a four-game winless streak, including a 2-3 loss to Kumasi Asante Kotoko, have witnessed coaching changes over the past season and a half.
Polo, who played a role in these changes, lamented the lack of appreciation for their efforts, attributing the club’s current struggles to challenges in technical direction.
“I thought I gave everything to them but unfortunately, there was no appreciation and if you are doing something without appreciation, it’s very very painful and today Hearts is suffering because of technical direction,” Polo told Citi Sports.
“They are struggling with technical direction. How many coaches have they sacked? I was part of those they did away with…the last one’s (departure) was very annoying.”
Abdul Bashiru is currently serving as the interim head coach.
