English-born Ghanaian striker Michael Folivi has pledged to help Colchester United escape the drop zone.
Folivi joined Colchester in November last year as a free agent after leaving Watford and he is looking forward to aid them out of relegation.
“League football is a big thing.” Folivi told Colchester Gazette
“Colchester are a huge club and when I came, I didn’t think we’d be in this position but I hope to say I’ll be a big part in keeping them out of it.
“There’s a buzz in the changing room and it’s been a while since I’ve seen that.
“Training has been good for a while, it’s just that things hadn’t been falling our way.
“It had been a long time coming and I know it’s a hard watch.
“I tried it on iFollow so I know exactly how the fans feel!
“To be fair, we’re playing better football and having more shots on goal and it’s better for them so hopefully, they’re more entertained and happier.
“You know how it is if you’re a football fan – as a player, you can put a smile on someone’s face or ruin the whole weekend, so hopefully we can put smiles on their faces.” He added.
Folivi has scored five goals and provided one assist in 25 league games so far this season.
