The international friendly between Ghana Premier League 2022/23 champions, Medeama SC, and Togolese champions ASKO de Kara has experienced a rescheduling.
Initially planned to be held at the Cape Coast Stadium on Friday, August 4, 2023, the match has been postponed to Sunday, August 6, at the same venue.
This friendly fixture holds significance as part of Medeama SC’s preparations for the 2023/24 CAF Champions League campaign.
Medeama will kick off their CAF Champions League journey by facing Nigerian side Remo Stars in the preliminary round’s first stage at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium.
The Mauves and Yellow will host the first leg of this encounter on August 18-20, 2023, before traveling to Ogun State in Nigeria for the reverse fixture on September 28-30, 2023.
Medeama SC last made it to the group stages of the CAF Confederations Cup in 2016, impressively eliminating Al-Ittihad Tripoli of Libya, Sudan’s Al Ahly Shendi, and Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa. However, they couldn’t advance beyond Group A, finishing third behind MO Bejaia and TP Mazembe.
