Former Ghanaian international Matthew Amoah has commended Antoine Semenyo for his outstanding performances at Bournemouth and advised him against leaving the club despite growing transfer interest.
The 25-year-old forward has been in exceptional form this season, scoring nine goals and providing five assists in 31 matches across all competitions. His impressive displays have attracted attention from Manchester United, Chelsea, Newcastle United, and Napoli.
Recently, Tottenham Hotspur has been linked with a move for Semenyo, with reports indicating that the North London club is preparing a €40 million (£33.5 million) bid to secure his services.
However, Amoah believes the Ghanaian forward is flourishing at Bournemouth and sees no reason for him to leave at this stage of his career.
“He’s doing his job very well at a club that also appreciates his work and efforts, with fans singing his name day in and day out,” he told Africa Foot.
Amoah further argued that Bournemouth currently offers a better footballing environment than Tottenham.
“Bournemouth are currently a better team than Tottenham and seem more stable with a very good coach. So, joining a club that is far behind would be a demotion that makes no footballing sense.”
Meanwhile, Semenyo is expected to be included in Ghana’s squad for their upcoming 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Madagascar later this month.
