The Ghana Football Association has called off the Ghana Premier League match between Ashantigold and Asante Kotoko originally scheduled to take place on Thursday.
Matches of Week 29 were played on Wednesday but the Ashanti Derby will not go ahead as planned due to intelligence report and advice from the Ghana Police Service as communicated by the GFA.
The Miners have been demoted to the third tier division by the GFA Disciplinary Committee after they were found guilty of match fixing in a 2020/21 league game against Inter Allies who also suffered the same sanction. Both clubs have appealed against the GFA verdict.
