Ghanaian midfielder Majeed Ashimeru made his long-awaited return to league football for RSC Anderlecht after being sidelined for 119 days due to a muscle injury.
The 26-year-old had been out of action since December, missing a crucial stretch of the Belgian Pro League season. However, he marked his comeback over the weekend, providing a boost to Anderlecht’s midfield as they push for a strong finish in the league.
Ashimeru’s absence had been a significant setback for the club, as he had established himself as a key figure in their midfield before the injury. His return comes at a critical time, with Anderlecht battling for a top position in the league standings.
The former Red Bull Salzburg player will now aim to regain full match fitness and help his side in their quest for silverware. His comeback also offers hope for a potential recall to the Black Stars ahead of Ghana’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Madagascar later this month.
