Ghanaian Midfielder, Lawrence Ofori’s Arouca defeated Rio Ave in the first leg of the battle to gain Portuguese top flight next season.
Italian-born Ghanaian, Ahmed Saiid’s Rio Ave are closing to exiting the Portuguese top flight after a huge defeat in the first leg of relegation play-offs with Arouca.
Arouca defeated Rio Ave 3-0 at the Estadio Municapal de Arouca putting them a step closer to gaining their Liga status.
Lawrence Ofori was introduced in the second half of the game and was very instrumental in sealing the victory. The ex-WAFA player last scored for the club when they won 2-1 away at Oliveirense in the Portugal Liga 2.
The 22 year old Midfielder is yet to get a call up for the national team, but his desire to represent the national team could actualize soon if his side gain promotion to the Portuguese Top flight.
