Hearts of Oak defender Kwesi Asmah has called on his teammates to put their recent struggles behind them and concentrate fully on securing victory against rivals Asante Kotoko in their upcoming Ghana Premier League clash.
The two giants of Ghanaian football will meet on Sunday, May 4, at the Accra Sports Stadium in the second Super Clash of the 2024/25 league season.
Hearts of Oak head into the game on the back of a poor run of form, having won just once in their last eight matches. During that stretch, the Phobians suffered four defeats and managed three draws, raising concerns among their supporters.
Despite the challenging run, Asmah remains optimistic and believes the team has what it takes to turn things around against their fiercest rivals.
“We are well prepared and looking forward to the match,” he told Hearts TV. “If you come to our training grounds, you’ll see the energy and commitment from everyone. Yes, we are not happy with our recent results, but we’re taking it one game at a time. We must leave the past behind and focus on what’s ahead.”
The high-stakes encounter between Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko is scheduled to kick off at 3:00 PM on Sunday. Fans are expecting a passionate performance from both sides as they chase crucial points and pride in the Super Clash.
