Miami FC midfielder Kwadwo Poku says he feels great representing his native country Ghana at the senior national team level and that he’s ready to give out his best to testify his inclusion in the Black Stars team.
The lanky midfielder was last week named in Coach Kwesi Appiah’s 24 man squad for Ghana’s crunch World Cup qualifying double-header clash with Congo.
Ghana host Congo in Kumasi on Friday September 1 before flying to Congo Brazzaville for the return leg on September 5.
Speaking to the press after Tuesday’s training at the Baba Yara stadium, Poku said ”It feels amazing to be part of the Black Stars team and I am also glad to be back home playing for the national team”
He added ”It’s a dream come true and I have come to do my best to help Ghana especially the national team because I feel this is the bigger moment for me representing my country and I’m really excited”
Though Poku admits Ghana stand a slim chances of qualifying for next years world cup, he says it’s not impossible for the Black Stars to secure qualification to the global showpiece.
”Every game in this qualifiers is really difficult but as you know Ghana has great talents, we’ve the best players because everything is possible and that is why we’re here we want to make it possible”.
”I feel like we are on the same page everybody wants to qualify for the World Cup since it is a big achievement to play in the world Cup because that is the biggest stage and you get the chance to play with the big players and the world therefore we are ready for Friday’s game.
