Asante Kotoko have generated a decent amount of seven thousand four hundred and twenty five Ghana Cedi three pesewas (GHC7, 425.03) from its online news portal, kotoko express app.
The online news outlet was brought to being to provide regular news updates, pictures and videos of clubs activities and live online show of the team’s football matches to the teeming fans of the club whilst serving as a vehicle for revenue generation.
The app has specific amounts of money to pay monthly upon subscription ranging from Five Ghana Cedi to Fifteen Ghana Cedi, (Gh5-15).
The aggregated amount mobilized after its first month of operation was handed over to the Chief Executive Officer of the club, George Amoako, in cheque by officers from the Stanbic bank.
This forms part of the numerous innovative streams of revenue mobilization which includes the sale of club paraphernalias.
Kotoko is currently in the group phase of the 2018/19 Caf Confederation Cup with Nkana FC, Zesco United and All Hilal Omdurman of Sudan.
