According to Karim Zito, the coach of Dreams FC, it is implausible for both Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak to progress to the subsequent round of the CAF Confederations Cup with his team members.
The ‘Still Believe’ squad achieved qualification to the next stage of the competition by defeating Guinean outfit Milo FC on Sunday.
Following a 1-1 draw in the first leg, Dreams FC secured a 2-1 victory at the Accra Sports Stadium during the return leg of the preliminary round.
After securing advancement to the next round, the seasoned coach commended his players and simultaneously criticized the two most prominent clubs in the country. He asserted that the current group of players under his guidance would not have been able to secure qualification for the next round.
Referring to his team, Zito remarked during a post-match press conference, “These my boys? Asante Kotoko will never use them for Africa, and Hearts of Oak will never use them for Africa. But we’ve advanced to the next stage against all odds,” Zito said in this post-match conference.
In the second round of the preliminary games, Dreams FC is set to face Sierra Leonean team Khallon FC.
The Ghanaian side will welcome Khallon FC to the Accra Sports Stadium on September 15, followed by a journey to the Southern Arena Stadium for the second-leg match on September 29.
