Dreams FC head coach Winfred Dormon has tipped Abdul Karim Zito to guide Asante Kotoko to the final of the 2025/26 CAF Confederation Cup.
Zito, who recently signed a permanent two-year contract with the Porcupine Warriors, will lead the Ghanaian giants in CAF’s second-tier club competition. The veteran trainer last featured in the tournament in 2024, steering Dreams FC to the semi-finals with Dormon as his assistant.
Speaking to Joy Sports ahead of the preliminary round draw, Dormon hailed Zito’s vast experience and proven track record.
“Karim Zito is a formidable coach, highly experienced. He has seen it all, and I can only wish him the very best,” he said. “I believe that with the success we achieved together at Dreams FC, he can maintain that and even go beyond the semi-finals.”
Kotoko will begin their Confederation Cup campaign against Nigeria’s Kwara United in the first preliminary round, hosting the first leg between September 19 and 21 before travelling for the return leg from September 26 to 28.
Should they advance, the Porcupine Warriors will face Moroccan heavyweights Wydad Casablanca in the second preliminary round, with matches set for October 17–19 and October 24–26.
