The young Ghanaian striker has caught the eye of the seasoned trainer in the ongoing Normalisation Committee Special Competition with his incredible goal scoring abilities.
Karela United, head coach Johnson Smith, has likened his attacker Diawise Taylor to former Accra Hearts of Oak prolific striker Ishmael Addo.
The youngster has emerged as one of the standout strikers in Ghana currently and leads the goal-king chat in the GFA Normalisation Committee Special Competition with 10 goals, one above Asante Kotoko’s Abdul Fatawu Safiu.
His consistent man of the match performance saw him score the only goal in his side’s Normalisation Committee Special Competition semifinal match against Ashantigold SC at the Len Clay Stadium last Sunday to set up a crunchy final against Asante Kotoko.
According to the Veteran coach, the 19 year-old striker’s qualities outshines any striker currently in the Ghanaian domestic league.
has therefore, tipped him to make history for Ghana in future.
Speaking to Kumasi-based Ashh FM in an interview, Johnson Smith said: “I have coached many players but if I am to compare Diawise to any Ghanaian player then it will be Ishmael Addo,”
The former Bibiani Gold Stars marksman will be hoping to score against Asante on Sunday at the Baba Yara Stadium in the grand finale game of the NC Special game to enable him snatch the golden boot title from his contender Abdul Fatawu Safiu who was on target for the Porcupine Warriors in their semifinal win over arch rivals Hearts of Oak.
Addo, who powered Accra Hearts of Oak to win the 2000 Caf Champions League and the 2001 Caf Super League holds the record of Ghanaian striker to have netted 22 goals within a league in the Ghana Premier League.
