Former Accra Hearts of Oak and Kumasi Asante Kotoko SC starman, Charles Taylor has revealed that he was never a shoe maker before hitting stardom.
Speaking to Angel FM in Accra, the outspoken Ex-Ghana star refuted the claims of him being a shoe shine and stated that he was only helping his manager.
“It’s not true that I was a shoe shine boy before I played for Accra Great Olympics and Hearts of Oak, I was rather helping my manager who was a shoe seller”.
Taylor after his move to the Phobians became a household name in the Ghanaian football fraternity and won the coveted CAF Champions League trophy in 2000 with Hearts of Oak and also collected the CAF Super Cup winning medal all with the Never Say Die team.
In 2003, the face of Hearts of Oak, Taylor, crossed the street of rivalry as he controversially moved from the Rainbow Boys to the Porcupines.
Taylor in his element helped the Red and Whites from Kumasi to end their 10-years trophy drought by winning the Ghana Premier League.
Taylor was part of the Ghana team that reached the finals of the maiden CAF CHAN Tournament in 2009 when Ghana lost to Dr. Congo in Ivory Coast.
