Ghana midfielder Thomas Partey’s future with Atletico Madrid, continues to be the source of speculation ahead of the summer transfer window.
The Atletico Madrid star is currently a prime target for Arsenal, who are looking to strengthen their midfield ahead of next season.
Although the Black Stars midfielder has previously talked about his desire to play in the Premier League to put Arsenal on red alert Joseph Atamah, his former playing mate at Ghanaian second-tier club Tema Youth FC, wants the player to quit the Spanish club and make his dream move to the English Premiership.
Partey was in action against Premier League opposition when his Atletico Madrid side took on runaway league leaders Liverpool in the Champions League round of 16.
The midfielder showed he would be able to hold his own in the league during the first leg. He has been a key player for Atletico in both the league and Champions League this season, forcing the Gunners to chase his signature.
“I will be happy if he goes to Arsenal,” Attamah told Citi FM
“He has done it all at Atletico and is well known as one of their best players.
“He has to move forward to a different league to prove his worth there as well.
“He needs to let people know that he is capable of succeeding in other places and not just Spain,”
Partey, who is also on the radar of PSG and other top clubs in Europe, has been an instrumental member of Diego Simone’s side since he returned from a season-long loan spell at Spanish side Almeria in 2015.
