Asante Kotoko midfielder Richmond Lamptey has bid farewell to his former teammate and captain, Danlad Ibrahim, who has departed the club after a successful stint.
Lamptey took to X (formerly Twitter) to express his gratitude for their time together on and off the pitch, saying “It was nice having you as a teammate and a friend. Good luck in your future endeavors.”
Danlad Ibrahim joined Asante Kotoko in the 2016-17 season and made significant contributions to the team, winning several accolades including the Ghana Premier League title, Africa U-20 Cup of Nations, and WAFU Zone B U-20 Tournament. He also won individual awards such as the Golden Glove and Ghana Football Awards Goalkeeper of the Year.
During his time at Asante Kotoko, Danlad made thirteen appearances in the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League season. His departure marks the end of an era for the goalkeeper, who is now set to embark on new challenges.
Asante Kotoko has embarked on a major squad overhaul ahead of the 2024/25 season, with eleven players exiting the club to make way for new additions.
