Ghanaian winger Joseph Paintsil has expressed admiration for his budding partnership with new Los Angeles Galaxy FC teammate Riqui Puig, labeling it as a remarkable connection.
Paintsil and the former Barcelona prodigy have only shared the pitch for three matches since the Ghanaian’s move to Major League Soccer during the winter transfer window.
Despite the brief period, the former Genk star has already made an impact, contributing a goal and an assist in his initial three appearances for LA Galaxy, including a stunning goal against San Jose Earthquakes.
On his debut against Inter Miami, Paintsil earned a penalty, which Puig unfortunately missed.
In an interview with the LA Galaxy website, Joseph Paintsil remarked on the seamless chemistry between him and Puig, likening their understanding to that of seasoned teammates.
“Playing alongside Riqui Puig is a fantastic connection,” Paintsil expressed. “It feels like we’ve been playing together for almost a season already.”
Paintsil’s impressive performances could earn him a call-up to the Ghana squad for the upcoming friendly matches against Uganda and Nigeria in Morocco later this month.
