Former long-serving goalkeeper for Kumasi Asante Kotoko Isaac Amoako has expressed his heartfelt happiness and gratitude to the Porcupine Warrior family for the unflinching support they offered him during his stay in Kumasi.
Isaac Amoako 34, started his footballing career at BA United before joining Asante Kotoko in the 2006/2007 calendar year, switching camps to newly promoted premier league side Dreams FC after spending close to Eleven(11) years with the Kumasi based outfit.
Amoako has joined Premier League returnees Dreams FC on a short-term deal.
The highly rated goalie is exposed to competition joining experience hands like former Accra Hearts of Oak and WAFA goalkeeper Philemon McCarthy for top-spot place in the team in the soon to commence Ghana Premier League 2017/2018 season.
“I thank God almighty for my new signing to Dreams FC,” Isaac Amoako told Kumasi’s Angel FM.
“Am very happy to join a club like Dreams, with its level of professionalism exhibited,even to the medical l undergone.”
Speaking on whether he feels disappointed with Kotoko having failed to give ample time to show to the entire world what he’s capable of after battling a career injury which saw him lose his spot at the club said ” l am never disappointed with kotoko cause when given time in the club at the period l was on my best of forms,l did my best to win titles with club.”
He continued ”I’m never worried about the fact that I am joining an experience chap in the sharp of Philemon McCarthy to rob shoulders for the club’s first team spot. I’m rather in Dreams to help lift the team higher to its appreciable level,”
Amoako noted when asked of the competition he expects to be given by his co- goalie who has previously featured with him for the Black Stars.
The safest pair of hands before leaving Kotoko had signed a short team contract of four(4) months which he hadn’t received the contract’s salary.
When asked of it he disclosed “l will like not to talk about that my unpaid contract salary with Kotoko because l have done all l could with my management to get the money but to no avail,having contacted the club on countless occasions”.
On how short his latest contract with Dreams FC is as published on the club’s official website, Amoako highlighted he wouldn’t like to talk a lot about his contract with Dreams but remains confident he will spend more than a year with the Dawu based side.
He finally thanked the Kotoko fraternity most especially management board, the playing body and the team’s support for making him who he’s today.
