Ghana midfielder Thomas Partey featured for Atletico Madrid as they beat English Premier League side Arsenal in the International Champions Cup.
Atletico Madrid on Thursday afternoon thrashed Arsenal 3-1 on penalties in the International Champions Cup played at the Singapore National Stadium.
Luciano Vietto put the Spanish side in infront on the 41st minute before Emile Rowe equalized for Unai Emery’s side in 47th minute as the game ended 1-1 after 90 minutes.
However, the game eventually ended 3-1 on penalties as Ghana youngster Eddie Nketiah, Joe Willock and Henrikh Mkhitaryan all missed their spot kick for the North London club.
Thomas Partey started the game but was substituted in the second half as the La Liga side continue preparations ahead of the new campaign.
The win means Atletico now occupies the 6th position on the log with 3 points from one game, while the Gunners occupies the 9th position with no point from one game.
