Legon Cities FC centre-back Joseph Adjei has apologised to Medeama star Justice Blay for the terrible injury he caused in Sunday’s Ghana Premier League fixture, leading to the Black Stars midfielder being ruled out for the remainder of the season.
Medeama SC defeated the Royals by 2-1 at the Akoon Park in match-week 20 of the Ghana Premier League with ace midfielder Kwesi Donsu netting the winning goal after Issaka Mohammed had already cancelled Prince Opoku Agyemang’s early strike.
Unfortunately, Blay suffered a horrific injury some few minutes to end the first half. Legon Cities FC defender Joseph Adjei gave the midfielder a nasty tackle, leading to him breaking his leg.

The 28 year old was stretched off to the Tarkwa Municipal Hospital where the Doctors confirmed he has suffered a fractured fibula and will be sidelined for 2-3 months meaning he will be out for the rest of the season.
Joseph Adjei after the unfortunate incident in an interview expressed so much regret on the unfortunate incident, stressing it was accidental and not intentional as perceived in the media.
Ajei, however, apologised to Justice Blay and disclosed he has spoken with him last night and this morning and will also offer his quota to help in the rehabilitation process. He told Happy FM in Accra;

“I am not in a good mood because of Justice Blay’s incident. I feel bad this morning as the thought runs through my mind. It was accidental and not intentional.”
“I spoke to him yesterday and done the follow-up this morning. This is somebody that we are both in the national camp and there is a World Cup Qualifiers coming up.”
“It wasn’t my intention to hurt him. When the situation happened I was thinking about his career. I am very sorry for the incident that happened. I didn’t mean to do that as what people perceive.”
“I will also do my part to be able to help him through this situation.”
