SaveGhanaFootball demonstration was so sensational as many people joined hands and demonstrated in the streets of Accra to express their dissatisfaction towards how football is run in the country.
Former GFA EXCO Member Alhaji Grunsah disclosed that call-up to the various Ghana national teams is now based on nepotism as Kurt Okraku’s administration calls players belonging to Kurt and his close allies camps.
“If you’re not playing for his team or his friends’ team, you won’t be called”, said Alhaji Grunsah, the owner of King Faisal Babies FC.
This revelation is a very serious allegation as it is benefitting a few people while the 35 million Ghanaians are suffering.
Players have been called to the national team but no one can explain the reason behind it. Players with zero minutes throughout the whole season are called at the expense of very active and competitive ones.
Alhaji Grunsah also lamented how poor Ghana’s youth football has been in recent years as he mentioned Burkina Faso and Niger’s wins over our youth teams in Ghana recently.
The SaveGhanaFootball project commenced on Wednesday 14th February, 2024 in Accra and it is expected to continue on Friday in Kumasi.
